Funds not on giftcard

I bought a giftcard from a grocery store and I sent ebay the photo of the card and receipt so that the funds would be released onto my account and for some reason I ont have the money on my giftcard?

So sorry this happened to you. Unfortunately, we see SO many gift card scams. Never share the numbers, send pictures, etc. Only key in the number when you are purchasing an item and are on the checkout page.

That is NOT how Ebay works. You never have to send Ebay a photo of the card & receipt. And the funds that are on the gift cards to not get "released" to your account.

Gift cards are used only when going through the Ebay checkout page to pay for a purchase you made on Ebay.

Sorry to say that you have been the victim of a SCAM. Whoever you sent the photo of the card & receipt to probably already spent the money that was on the card.

I sent it to ebay or so I thought, could it had been an **bleep** that made up some kind of ebay email cause I could have sworn I was dealing with ebay and not some scammer that got me for my $50 bucks.. It was my first time using ebay and I didn't know what I was doing and thought I was being careful cause I seriously thought I was sending everything to ebay but now you confirmed that I was stupid and just played for $50 giftcard that I'll never get back. Dammit I really hate evil people that take advantage of other like myself cause I really needed the money I was trying to get from selling my vintage camera to this **bleep**!!! Excuse my language but I'm upset about this cause I know now that I'll never get back that money nor will this person ever get what they deserve for doing this kind of thing to others. Anyways thank you for replying to my question, I really appreciate it alot even though you confirmed that I got jacked for the only money I had left period.
