Frozen funds
I sell live, temperature plants, and have since 1999 through eBay. The Monday after Black Friday I shipped over 30 boxes, with over 200 plants in them. Most were delayed so long the plants froze, and I refunded, as I always so, the total amount the buyer paid, which includes the shipping they paid. The following week's listings were already up, and when they closed, I made the decision to suspend shipping until after Christmas, as packages are always delayed around that time, and as I live in Upstate NY, we had some severe weather. The plants would have never made it in time. I contacted every buyer with the option to delay shipping until it was safe, to cancel the sale. Now I get ready to ship the packages, and I find that my funds have been frozen until I ship. I have had winters where I had to hold shipping for 3 or 4 weeks of bad weather here or at the buyer's location and never had this happen. So looking forward, what are my options? Send them an empty box and "fake" shipping?? Then when safe, ship the plants? Print a label and later void it? You guys stick your noses in my business, when you have no clue how things work. Everytime you change things, you screw up more than you fix. Now I have to put this week's shipping on my credit card, and who knows how long it will take you to release the funds. Most of my customers are regulars, who order from me often, THEY get it, and often request I hold shipping. Some want me to wait until spring, are you going to freeze my funds until then if I agree? (which I don't, I usually cancel and ask them to buy in the spring) I have three customers who don't pay for two or three weeks, are you going to suspend me for their actions? Yes, I am mad, you stick your computer's nose into my business. FIX IT!

OP3 years agoThank you for the information. As for a website, I did have one for years, but I never got the attention I do on eBay.
