"How long does usps take to claim they have received the item . . . . ?" There are almost as many different answers to that question as there are eBay sellers. Things that are sold by me, as my eBay Selling ID, will show that the US Postal Service (USPS) is in possession of the item within -- usually -- a couple of hours after I purchase the postage/mailing label through eBay. That is because I take them to my local post office as soon as possible after buying the label through eBay. That post office is only one mile from my home. Once I get to the post office, I stand in line and ask the clerk for an "Acceptance Scan, Please!" (The staff there all know me by sight now . . . . .) I used to drive my packages a few more miles to the Main Post Office, to drop them into the mail boxes -- at any time of day or night -- outside that Main Post Office building (now closed, demolished, and apartments built . . . . .) But after several months of noticing that those items were not being scanned when they were removed from the mail boxes the next morning, I decided to save time and only take my sold items to the local post office. Where I know they will receive Acceptance Scans.

USPS doesn't always scan packages that are dropped off at the post office with a prepaid shipping label. As a buyer, I've often had an item Delivered before tracking updated from 'A label as been created'.

I don't believe USPS has made any claims about timing. Since you just joined eBay 11 days ago ... I think it's a bit premature to worry about being scammed ... especially since you're in Canada and posting on the eBay US website.

That would depend on how long it takes the seller to take the item to the carrier and have a clerk scan the label.
