freight shipping on Ebay

I'm new to selling on Ebay. Can someone explain to me how a purchaser pays for shipping of an item when it's considered a freight item?

@factoryutah Last time I looked into this if the listing says contact seller for freight the buyer will not be able to checkout.

If you have an interested buyer the easiest way to handle this is to get your freight quotes and then relist with a flat rate shipping price. I personally would NOT list with freight shipping,.

I do not recommend freight shipping. I suggest you use Local Pick Up. Also say Local Pick Up in the title as some buyers see Free Local Pick Up and think it means Free Shipping.

Put a note in the description that the buyer can arrange their own freight pick up.

When the buyer arranges freight shipping you are not responsible if the item is lost or damaged in shipping AND you don't have to worry about VERY expensive return shipping costs.

Scan the QR code or enter the 6 digit code into the app when the buyer or shipping company picks up the item so you have proof of delivery.

You either put in a flat rate for freight in your listing, which buyer pays when purchasing, or you have buyer contact you for a quote and you send them an invoice for the total including the freight. For local pickup buyer pays freight directly to the carrier, but you do not release the item without entering the pickup confirmation code.
