Free up to $100 insurance

Question

NEED HELP! I had a package arrive damaged thru UPS. It says up to $100 liability insurance....but UPS won't file a claim because they said eBay generated the shipping label and eBay won't cover it because over $100 value insurance wasn't purchased...soooo, who covers the free insurance up to $100 value??? Neither one will help me and I've been trying for over a month! ANY ADVICE?

eBay has a specific claims process for UPS labels.

Be sure that the email address you use for your claim matches the email for your eBay account so that any refund will be sent to your correct eBay account.

Filing a UPS claim

Visit the UPS claims portal
Log in to your existing account, or create an account. [You can actually log in as a Guest if you don't have a UPS account. Look for the tiny link on the initial portal page].

Shipping - UPS guest claim
When you get to the claims page, be sure to checkmark the box for "Did you ship this package through a third-party eCommerce site?" That will open an email slot. Fill in your eBay email. It's important the email address associated with your UPS account is the same as the email address associated with your eBay account. Shipping - UPS claim
Enter required information, refer to the UPS Claims on UPS.com Seller guide for workflows for lost or damaged packages.

UPS packages automatically cover the first $100 of insurance. As with all carriers, any additional insurance must be purchased with the label.
