Free shipping on books
Hello all,
I have some books for sale. Others have sold a book for $3.80 with free shipping. The cheapest shipping option I see is USPS Media mail.
How are sellers able to do that without losing money?

Mentor1 year agoHigh-volume sellers may be able to get discounted shipping by presorting shipments. That is not something that low-volume sellers can take advantage of using retail shipping options.
Some foreign sellers may get subsidized shipping rates.
Some sellers may count on combining orders to make money, and may actually lose money selling individual books that way.
Some sellers may be shipping untracked, and risk losing any Item Not Received cases to be able to ship slightly cheaper.
Some sellers may have not yet figured out that they are losing money by pricing their shipping that way, or may not care.
