Fraudulent seller.
How can I get a refund from fraudulent seller?
The seller was selling a non-working demo unit as a working retail item. I accidentally selected the wrong return reason, and the seller closed the case to commit fraud. How can I reopen this as an Item Not As Described case?

Contact the funding source you used to pay for the item to inquire about disputing the charge.

OPAug 14, 2026 at 11:13 PMUnfortunately Paypal said the window closed while I was awaiting a reply from eBay, but thanks anyway!
I will still be pursuing eBay and Paypal, undaunted!
I bought Square trade insurance, but they will not pay as it never worked from the jump.

Ebay can no longer help you if the case was closed.

OP3 weeks agoUnfortunately the funds were taken from my checking account, where there is no fraud protection. I will try anyway. Thanks!

Mentor3 weeks agoIt was not fraud if you accidentally selected the wrong return reason. You can dispute the charge with the bank because the item you received was not working.
When you filed the Return Request, you needed to specify a valid reason covered by the Ebay Money Back Guarantee. If the reason you (accidentally) chose was not covered, then the seller was allowed to decline your return request.
