Fraudulent Seller

I purchased what were described as mint issued Indian Head cents from 2 sellers on June 24th. When I reported counterfeit coins, the one seller gave me a full refund, the other one demanded I return them first & upon receipt he would give me a full refund. Why did the seller want counterfeits returned, so he could resell to another eBay buyer? Besides his listing was taken down by eBay for a “policy violation.” Since when does eBay not protect a buyer & issue me a refund of $156.84? I was willing to return these counterfeits, but only after a full refund, as I’m obviously dealing with a dishonest Chinese seller!?!? Shame on me for trusting eBay’s Money Back guarantee. Stephen

The guarantee applies, but the item has to be returned before a refund is issued, not the other way around.
If the seller is asking you to ship to China, use the ‘ask us to step in’ option in your return request - eBay will direct the seller to send you the cash for the return shipping. Or the seller may choose to just issue the refund instead.

OP1 month agoThank you. I understand that aspect of the guarantee, BUT when dealing with an unscrupulous, deceptive seller that eBay removes for “policy violations” I believe the “full refund” should be first. I’m protecting others, as well as myself.
