FRAUD --- sales on eBay
Need some help! I am a ebay seller and I sell coins. Recently sold a coin for $895. The coin did not arive at its destination. When purchasing postage for shipping the system told me that i was oly insured for $100 and did I want to purchase additional insurance, It is a lot of money so I did. I also paid usps a additionaal fee to get signature on delivery.
The insurer Interstate Fire and Casuality Company (insurer) a subsidiary of Allianze Global Risk US Insurance Company issued a policy for the purpose of "Parcel Insurance" (through Parcel Insurance Plan (PIP) their agency. After receiving my premium and keeping it the insurer denied my claim stating their policy does not cover coins.
When they offered their policy they were aware I was shipping a coin and its value. I accepted the offer , paid the premium (based on its value (sales price) ) and sent my package to the buyer in good faith! Offering me coverage to insure the coin, taking the premium and then claiming they dont cover the item sounds like one thing : FRAUD.
1. Has anyone out there had any similar problems?
2. Has anyone received payment for lost coins?
3. anyone else paying for non existance services?
I have sold hundreds of coins all stating they were insured and in many cases paid for coverage above the standard $100 included coverage Many many times. The coins were delivered and the "insurer" kept the premiums for something they say they do not cover and services never received. THEFT?
There are hundreds of other sellers being ripped off out there and we need to get together to stop these companies from doing this with impunity.
There are at least three parties involved in and profiting from this scheme. USPS, eBay and multible insurance comanies and agents.
Please help me gather information to stop them from ripping us off. Class action suit possible?
