Fraud or Glitch?
Summary: jobeue-0 shared their frustration about not receiving funds from an item sold on eBay, despite eBay claiming the payment was sent to a Chase account. After checking with both their bank and eBay customer service, they have found no resolution and are now reliant on a recall attempt for the funds. rfmtm inquired if they had a Chase account and suggested checking their managed payment page, to which jobeue-0 confirmed that neither Chase nor eBay showed any attempt to deposit the funds into their account.
I sold an item 8 weeks ago and the funds were received by eBay. The funds never got credited to my bank account. The bank confirmed there was never any attempt by eBay to transfer money into my account. eBay now tells me that they confirmed the money went into a Chase account but they can’t tell me who’s account it went to. After 8 weeks of trying to navigate the worst customer service process ever, I’m now told my only recourse is for them to try to recall the funds and it’s not guaranteed to work.

Mentor1 week agoDo you have a Chase account?
Did you check you managed payment page to confirm the bank listed there?

OP1 week agoYes. eBay supplied payout confirmation, I took it to Chase and contacted their fraud division and they showed no funds moving to any of my accounts or even an attempt by eBay to deposit funds.

Mentor1 week agoSo your correct Chase account is linked to your ebay managed payments? If so you need to contact ebay's fraud department.
