Fraud on eBay
Summary: grybksii77-us expressed frustration about a recent eBay purchase labeled as 'New' that arrived in poor condition with missing parts. The seller's dismissive response was unsatisfactory, and difficulties in reaching eBay's customer service have led to discouragement about future purchases on the platform.
I have bought hundreds of items on eBay over several years. Rarely was there a problem, but things seem to be changing for the worst. I recently made a purchase clearly stated as New. But when I received the item, it was anything but. The box looked old and torn, and half the item wasn't even there. When I contacted the seller his simple reply was, " everyone makes a mistake." How stupid to falsely call an item new when you knew it wasn't. That isn't a mistake; it's fraud. To top it off ebay has now made it impossible to speak with anyone with the company. The situation makes me not want to buy off ebay again.
inceptions
Mentor2 weeks agoHi @grybksii77-us
There is no need to speak with eBay. eBay provides a link to their Money Back Guarantee on every item listing.
Here's what to do...
If you’ve received an item that is not as described, you have up to 30 days to open a return using the option next to the transaction in your Purchase History. The seller will have 3 business days to provide a prepaid return shipping label or else refund. If he does neither, go back to the case on day 4 and use the option to ask eBay to step in. eBay will force the refund.
