Fraud attempts on PayPal Account used in eBay

Question

In the last year, every time I have made a purchase on eBay, I have used my PayPal Account to pay for my purchase. The very next day or within a couple of days, there are fraudulent attempts to make purchases using my PayPal Account. I don't use PayPal that often so I can tell it is directly connected to my recent purchase on eBay. Does anyone have an suggestions on what a better option is to make purchases on eBay? I hate having to cancel my credit card associated with my PayPal Account every time I make a purchase on eBay.

If unauthorized transactions appear in your eBay account, you should take steps to secure your eBay account by changing your eBay password, examining account details closely for changes and alerting eBay.

If the unauthorized transactions do not take place in your eBay account, then eBay is likely not involved. eBay does not share your payment information with sellers or anyone else. Your card number is not shown anywhere in your eBay account, so your card information cannot be obtained by someone who gains temporary access to your eBay account.

If the transactions are made using your PayPal card number with a different eBay account or another site altogether, you need to contact PayPal directly to dispute the charges and get a new card number issued, and make sure your PayPal account is secure.

If the charges appear in your PayPal account directly, someone may have gained access to your PayPal account, and you should change your PayPal account password if you suspect that. You may want to also go to your PayPal account settings and select Security and look carefully at the "Auto login" and "Manage your logins" sections to remove any browsers from the list for higher security.

You may also want to make sure that no one else has access to your devices -- physically or remotely -- and that your local network and email accounts are secure and protected. Someone with remote access to your device could be obtaining payment information such as card details or account credentials that way.
