Fraud Appeal process
I recently tried to purchase a firepit from a seller on ebay. That seller provided a fake tracking number and I never received my item. $340 for a firepit. I went to USPS to get detailed tracking information. A 1.8 lbs package was delivered to a house in my city but not my address. The firepit would have been 40+ lbs. I opened a case with ebay, they investigated. ebay sided with the seller since they provided a tracking number that verified delivery. That took 2 weeks. I appealed the decision. ebay denied my appeal, that took about 10 mins. They said they understand the issue but because the seller provided a tracking number, they could do nothing. I am obviously not happy as I believe this is a clear case of fraud. The seller even has multiple feedback entries on their page with people that went through something similar to me. I have tried to respond to ebay to escalate but they make it difficult to do so after a case closure. Does anyone have advice on how to continue to push this with ebay? I will never purchase or sell another item on ebay but I would still like to get back the money that was stolen.

Mentor6 months ago@zsco4292 I am so sorry that eBay didn't help you with the false tracking scam. Since you have already appealed and it was denied there is nothing more you can do through eBay. You will need to contact your funding source to file a charge back.

Explain that the seller is using fake USPS tracking numbers
Include these phrases
Seller uploaded tracking not associated with my transaction
Tracking details were not accurate
Seller use a false tracking number
Don't write a novel, it's initially being read by a computer, that's why I want you to use those 3 specific phrases in the message.
