I’m relatively new to EBay so forgive my ignorance. I paid for an item and it was not delivered. The seller essentially took down other items for sale and abandoned the account. I tried to cancel and EBay declined it because the seller is a ghost account and did not reply to any messages. Is there any mechanism for me to get my money back on this platform?

Go to your Purchase History and locate the purchased item. What is the last estimated delivery date? You have up to 30 days past that date in order to file an Item Not Received case, to get your money back. Once you file, the seller has 3 days to provide a tracking number that shows Delivered or issue a full refund. If the seller does neither, on day 4 you return to the case and click Ask ebay to step in, to force a refund.

If it is past the 30 day limit, you will need to log into Paypal and file an Item Not Received case there, if that is how you paid, as they allow up to 180 days from date of purchase to file, to get your money back.

If you paid with a credit card, file a charge back with your credit card issuer.
