Fraud!!!
Someone bought a slot car from me. We tested it before we shipped it. It worked great. We mailed it shortly after it was purchased. That night, he messaged to cancel the order. I told him that I was sorry, but I had already taken it to the Post office. I told him he was welcome to return it. I mentioned he would have to pay shipping both ways, and I would issue a refund. The car was 12.95, shipping 4.95. It was delivered today. He had no reason to open it since he was returning it. However, he requested a refund, because “it didn’t run rightâ€!!!!! No picture of the car or box. I don’t want to request P.O. Insurance, because I think it is fraud. If I deny it, I don’t want a possible negative. Any thoughts? Thank you! I couldn’t get ahold of EBay, but I’ll keep trying.

Consider if you want to report the buyer for misusing the MBG.

Normally eBay wants sellers to accept the return for items that don't match the listing, send a return label, and refund when you got the item back.
If you don't, the buyer can ask eBay to step in. Ebay can refund the buyer without requiring the buyer to return the item. And you will receive a nasty defect.

Accept within 3 business days.

For contacting eBay, make here a choice for a chat or a call to you: https://www.ebay.com/help/eua?id=5275&mkpid But, it is risky to do so, because eBay wants sellers to solve issues themselves.

I suggest to report the buyer first. You have 3 days and hopefully eBay responds quickly.

Has the buyer filed an Ebay Return Request? If so, what was the exact reason they chose when they filed the Refund Request?
