Fradulent sales on old ebay account
Hello:
I am a former seller on ebay. However, I have not sold anything in years. I recently received an email from them indicating that an item that I had listed years ago sold. I had not listed this item, and it sold several years back on a different outlet. I notified ebay as well as the customer and they still sold the item. I am now being assessed fees for an item, which never legitimately sold on this site. I have attempted to email them concerning this matter. I emailed the potential customer and advised him prior to the purchase date that the item was no longer available. I have attempted to reach out to eBay through the customer service, which is a freaking nightmare. There is no working or operable telephone number for eBay and their chat is laughable. I don't know what the heck is happening now at eBay, but it appears to be a total and complete mess, where nothing can get done or handled properly as everything is automated. Can anyone tell me how to get to an actual human or live customer service representative so I can address my concerns. I know that I can dispute the charges through my bank, however, I should not have to go through the hassle of opening a dispute through my bank or closing a bank account to avoid fraudulent fees or charges from eBay. Any suggestions that you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Here's my advice to help secure your account:
#1 Run a full scan with your virus software to remove any spyware from your computer.
#2 Go to my eBay> account>personal information and make sure that all information is correct including your cell phone number, registered email and ship from and to addresses.

#4 Secure your email account.
Change the passwords and secret questions. Be sure to use different passwords and secret questions on eBay and your email. Do not use these passwords on any other account.
Hacked accounts often start with a hacked email account.
#5 Calling is the only way to report hacked accounts for security reasons.

#6 For extra protection consider turning on two-step verification. 3rd option on this page>

#7 Unlink all Social Sign in methods and change your passwords on those accounts too. The hacker will be able to use the social sign in links to sign in to your account again if you do not disconnect this option.
