Found a mistake with a sold product and buyer not responding
Hello all!
I sold an item (a video game with extras), and I thought the game was still shrink wrapped, but it wasn’t. I want to make sure this is okay with the buyer before I ship the item (I think the extras are what they bought it for, but if the game still being shrink wrapped is important, then I don’t want them to be disappointed when they get the item).
I sent them a message and am waiting for a response, but EBay is saying that I need to ship by June 24th. I am happy to do so, but only if the buyer contacts me and still wants the item. I am a little concerned, since it took them a while between winning the item and paying for the item, and it has almost been 24 hours since I sent my message to them.
If they do not reply back to my message, what should I do? Should I ship the item? Cancel the order and relist the item with the description corrected? Keep waiting past June 24th for a reply? I’m just a bit unsure and want to have a decent plan in case.
Thank you for any help you can provide!

Mentor2 years ago@killpura If they don't respond back before your ship by date then I'd write a note and put in the box. Explain that you are sorry for the mistake and tried reaching out to them before you shipped. Let the buyer know that if they wish to they can return the order for a full refund, you pay return shipping.
Don't cancel or you are going to cause yourself more problems as you'd have to cancel as out of stock. When you cancel as out of stock you get a defect and the buyer will most likely leave negative feedback.
