Found a Better Price Impact on Sellers
So in the last few weeks Ihave now had a couple returns under Found a Better Price. I am a Top Rated Seller so most of my listings are Free Shipping with Returns in 30 days, Buyer pays return shipping. When the return is shipped back to you under Found a Better price the Seller loses the shipping paid to ship the item at time of original purchase. EBay allows the Buyer to return the item with no shipping charge under this return. It doesn't charge the Seller for the return shipping, but there is no process for the Seller to recoup the $ spent on shipping. Small Business Sellers are going to get crushed under this policy. If I sell a item for $ 12 with free shipping and my cost of the item is $5 it costs me $4 to ship it I have a $3 profit margin before EBay's share. If it is returned under Found a better price but I now have $9 invested into my $12 item that will cost me $4 to ship which is net proft of -$1 plus EBay fees.
I s anyone aware of this? I am a little concerned that the well paid higher ups didn't think this program through. Amazon gets free shipping due to Government subsides, How is a Seller supposed to navigate this issue. Thanks in advance to anyone who can enlighten me!

This is one of the many reasons why offering "free" shipping isn't necessarily a good idea. (Free shipping isn't a requirement to be a Top Rated Seller.)
