Subject: Formal Complaint – Defective and Unsafe Item & Unresponsive Seller
Dear eBay Support Team,
I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding a recent purchase made through eBay and to request your assistance under eBay Buyer Protection.
The item I received was defective and unsafe. Upon switching on the first light, it immediately exploded and caused a power outage in my home, damaging the main electrical fuse. The second item arrived damaged and in poor condition.
In addition, several critical details were not disclosed in the item listing, including that the product operates on 110–120V, which is incompatible with the electrical standards in my country, and that it is Made in China. These omissions make the item not as described and unsafe for use.
I paid approximately $45 USD in shipping costs to ship the item from the United States to Bahrain via a forwarding service, as the seller does not offer international shipping.
The seller provided a U.S.-domestic-only return label, which FedEx confirmed cannot be used for international returns. I have contacted the seller multiple times requesting a proper international return solution or refund, but the seller has stopped responding and has not provided any alternative return method.
Given the safety risk, misleading listing information, financial loss, and the seller’s lack of communication, I respectfully request eBay’s intervention to resolve this case and issue a full refund, including shipping costs.

·8 months agoSince you used a forwarding service, that voided your eBay money back guarantee, so the seller is not required to accept a return. If they are willing to accept a return, it’s your responsibility to ship the item back to the forwarding service. The seller is only responsible for return shipping from the first address it was sent to, the forwarding service.
