Forced to refund buyer despite damaged and tampered items?
My apologies for my lack of knowledge as I am (or was) a new seller.
So, I'm quite confused maybe someone can clarify or point me in the right direction . Apparently a buyer can damage or tamper with an item request a return and if the seller (me) disagrees with the "claim" ebay will step in refund buyer and charge the seller MORE than was received by seller (another words ebay gets their $ regardless) no questions asked? So seller has no recourse other than to "report buyer's return policy abuse" whatever that means doesn't help me with my financial loss as items are now damaged.
Below was sent to the powers that be the result....all I can see is case was closed immediately with no correspondence with me the seller?
I don't even know where to start ...first the buyer claimed the items were defective which they were 100% not and all items came out of a fully functioning vehicle just prior to being boxed up and stored in my residence. Then EBay makes a decision to favor the buyer without even acknowledging that you received my multiple messages stating the above facts. Today I received my returned items that have clearly been damaged AND tampered with! (shocking) .... I have pictures of both the ******* and the *** that have been opened or attempted to be opened (the ******* is useless now)
Also please explain why I was charged $277 for the return of my now damaged and tampered items when I received only $190 for the original sale?
This was my first sale on ebay and most likely my last if this is in fact the final outcome. I am a 30 year auto mechanic with an inventory of Mercedes, BMW and many other manufactures parts literally valuing in the tens of thousands of dollars that I've finally decided to let go. I was planning to use ebay as my primary selling platform. Now?.... I will have to explore other avenues
