Florida hunting/fishing tax free holiday not being honored.
So I’ve had quite a few items wish listed that would fall into this category. But everything I tried to purchase are still being charged sales tax to me to Florida. Everything from tents, fishing rod, reels, sleeping bags and everything else covered under the states tax free event. So this eBay just blatantly ignoring it or don’t know it’s happening? So will eBay be refunding all Florida residents their money or are all the eBay executives just getting a big bonus this year from all the sales tax collected from Florida customers?

First, I doubt that eBay is ignoring Florida's tax holidays, or any state's tax holidays.
Your post states "everything I tried to purchase [is] still being charged sales tax to me."
Have you actually purchased something, on eBay, that would qualify for that sales tax holiday?
Maybe you can find a listing for something priced within your budget that you could actually buy, to see if the amount eBay instructs you to pay does include sales tax?
I suggest this because I (as my selling ID) have noticed, sometimes, that the sales tax amount paid by my buyer(s) ends up being different in the final transaction than in an original calculation.
As for any refund of sales taxes that are charged "in error", I don't think eBay does that.
You would probably have a better chance of getting a sales tax refund from your state government/treasury. Check your state's official website.

OP11 months agoSo first this isn’t something that started yesterday, it started on September 8th and goes through 12/31 so we’re a month in. And yes after you proceed with buy it now, pick your payment and confirm shipping, the combine totals still include the sale tax on the final “confirm and pay†icon. So they’re going to charge me 8% at checkout then refund it back to me. Or waste an hour of my life calling CS for them to refund it. I’ll probably just use Amazon and other retailers that have it in place for Florida residents already.

OP11 months agoOh I’ve tried several items, tents under 200, sleeping bags under 50, fishing rods under 75, holsters, range bags etc… it’s very frustrating, Florida is the 3rd largest state, 1st in sport/ recreational fishing and I think it’s first in numbs of ranges. So it’s a lot of money collected when it shouldn’t be from the state that probably buy the most from them. In the end it just hurts the sellers because buyers will just shop elsewhere. For comparison I bought 2 of the same things on eBay from amazon today and they had the tax exempt already in at final checkout.
