FIX or NIX the pop-on ad -- PLEASE! -- webpage dies each time
After making the annoying eBay pop-on ad exit (an ad which tells me to use the eBay app via the scan code -- which makes zero sense when I'm on a desktop PC!), the webpage dies (i.e., it freezes). No scrolling is possible. No button will work. Again, the webpage has completely died! Hey Houston… Hey McFly… Hey somebody at eBay with an IQ over 62½!
After F5 refreshing the webpage, the annoying pop-on ad reappears (yea! he says quite sarcastically!). Repeating to make the annoying pop-on ad exit a second time once again another time, the webpage dies once again forever more.
Refresh, exit, die, repeat… kinda like shampoo instructions but for an annoying and utterly useless pop-on ad.
I wanted to buy the item, but if the webpage refuses to work after each refresh and die, how is that possible? No link or button will work. How do I buy the item if no button will work? How? Please, someone tell me!
Hello eBay… will you please make these annoying pop-on ads stop? Please? Or, program them properly. Maybe hire people with an IQ over 62½? Maybe? Maybe maybe? Sheesh!

Mentor1 year agoI use a desktop computer, and when I get that pop up ad, I simply click on the X to close it. I use Chrome as my browser. Have you tried using a different browser?

OP1 year agoThank you for posting. I use Chrome for Win-10/64 (“Chrome is up to date, Version 137.0.7151.56â€), and have no interest in changing browsers just to accommodate a wonky ad app on eBay. I hate Edge, as many folks do!
This issue has been ongoing since the latest eBay pop-on ad started appearing a while back. Not all eBay pages get the ad, which is confusing. All I want to do is buy an old postcard from my hometown to donate to the town museum, yet I can’t make the buy happen. I even tried duplicating the tab to no avail.
Why aren’t sellers upset for loss of sales caused by a malfunctioning pop-on ad?
Would it be asking too much for an ad off switch? Or, hey eBay, maybe hire someone who knows how to write ad code that works? Or, are these third-party double-cross ads? Hmmm… double something… double something… double what? Double clack? Double clock? Double crack? Double cluck? Double f… OK, never mind!

OP1 year agoJust for the record, does anyone see a scrollbar at the right? It's not there. The mouse wheel does nothing, nor do any links or buttons work. The webpage is dead. Repeatedly after each refresh. Tried it 5-6 times.
