In addition to what @eburtonlab correctly said, you can use this link to check the balance if you still have the card with the numbers to enter: https://www.ebay.com/gft/balance

Once you have used an eBay gift card to make a purchase, any remaining balance should appear on your checkout page with a box to check to apply the amount to a future purchase.
