final value fees
why does Ebay add shipping and taxes to my sale amount and then charge 13.25% of that total to me ???
SHIPPING AND TAXES ARE NOT PART OF MY PROFIT.

Mentor3 years agoeBay is not charging based on your profit -- eBay has no idea whether you are making money, breaking even, or losing money.
eBay is charging based on how much the buyer pays, in total.
eBay could have chosen to calculate a fee based on some other amount, but then the fee percentage would likely be much higher to collect the same amount of revenue.
eBay gets to decide how fees are calculated. It is up to sellers to determine if the amount of the fee is too high to justify listing a particular item at a particular price.

·3 years agoJust like Pay Pal, credit cards and other payment processors, their fee's are based on the total amount the buyer pays.
