Hi!
Why should I pay a FVF on shipping paid by the buyer? If it costs ME $10 to ship and the buyer pays $10 I lose 13.6% or $1.36 on shipping. Also on sales tax? The Buyer pays the sales tax and eBay collects it, not me.
I lose $$ on that too.
I think I need to find another place to sell my items. Whatnot only charges about 8% which includes the credit card charge too.
And another thing, If I use the USPS site to print labels it comes out cheaper than what eBay charges.
That's all, Thanks

When you list an item on eBay to (try to) sell it, you agree to be governed by eBay's rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
eBay includes shipping paid by the buyer in the Total Amount of the Sale, and subject to the percentage portion of the FVFs.
Years ago, in the early days of eBay, they did not charge the FVF on postage. Too many dishonest sellers started listing their items for $1.00 but asked for shipping of $50.00, $100.00, or more. eBay realized there were waaaay too many people cheating them (eBay) out of fees for using their platform. Thus, eBay started charging fees on the total amount paid by the buyer, which usually includes shipping/postage.
BTW, you are absolutely allowed to purchase your postage through usps.com, using their Click-n-Ship program. That's perfectly fine.
