Fees include total cost with shipping
Ebay fees have become outrageous! Fees should not be based on shipping as well as price! the shipping cost has nothing to do with the item price! Ebay is being greedy! Time to look for alternatives to ebay.

There's a bunch of reasons to include the shipping, it started with greedy sellers listing an item for $1 with $100 shipping. If they didn't include the shipping, the % would be higher, the fee would not go down.
Instead of looking at how the fee is calculated, decide if you feel that you are getting value for the amount you pay. If not, then you should be looking for other sites. Obviously, most of us here feel like the service is worth the fee.
