fees and taxes
how is it even legal to ad all the taxes and shipping to every item sold and then ebay takes out their fees from the after taxes amount ? so i sell an item for $50 then they ad taxes like $ 10 and shipping that is 65$ they then take out the total fees of 13.5% plus ad fee because you almost have to buy extra ad promo or your item doesnt get shown, so ad another 11.5 fees . after all said and done on a $50 sale the seller gets like $25-30???? it just doesnt seem fair or legal !! lol no offence ebay your the best!! lol

Mentor2 years agoWhile there are many explanations, like it encourages sellers to not overprice shipping/under price the item, or all payment processors use the payment total, the truth is that eBay can base their fees on any calculation they choose, as long as it is applied fairly.
Just think in terms of total fees when you set your prices. Remember that if applied to only the item, the % would be higher, the fees would not be lower.
