Feedback removal?
I do a reasonable amount of both buying and selling on eBay and have never (in over 20 years) had this happen before. I left negative feedback for a seller who on two occasions has failed to ship me what I purchased. He gave me a good excuse the first time, yet never shipped the items. (In a phone call) He apologized and implied that he would ship them, so I bought another item from him which he also did not ship. My feedback was objective, honest and nothing inappropriate, yet the seller is successful in having my feedback removed from his history. How does that happen without eBay checking for MY side of the story? He deserves the feedback I have given.

eBay doesn't mediate feedbacks. Go to https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/feedback-policies/feedback-policies?id=4208 and scroll down to the lengthy "When do we remove feedback" section. There's a million reasons. Your situation may have been for the reason "An eBay Money Back Guarantee case or payment dispute was closed with the seller having met their obligations to the buyer" that's gobbledygook for the seller refunded you without eBay having to get involved. Perhaps you can find one of the other reasons that's a better fit.

OP4 months agoThank you very much! I thought eBay monitored and was the only entity capable of removing feedback.
Frustration continues - I have now purchased 3 coins from this guy, he has not sent ANY one of them and he does not respond to emails. He did, however make 2 phone calls to me (sounds like a nice old man). I did get a refund for one of the first two coins (in 1 order), but he still owes me two coins (or a refund). I cannot get a coin or a refund from him and evidently eBay will do nothing to help. I'm out about $112.00.
I'm just venting - no reply necessary - thanks again!

Mentor4 months agoThat's right; they are. When they remove it, it's for one of the reasons on the Help page I gave you the link to. When I said that eBay doesn't mediate, I meant they don't first check with the member who left it.

Mentor4 months agoDid you file an Item Not Received case against the seller? That is more important than leaving neg feedback. You get your money back and ebay records a defect on the seller account. Too many defects and the seller can be restricted or suspended.
