Feedback removal
I provided feedback on a seller who declined to give a shipping number, refused to reply to me, and essentially vanished. I submitted the feedback, it was published, and then two days later it disappeared, with the seller's rating returning to 100% without any explanation. How is this possible?

Mentor1 year agoJust because you don't see a tracking number, it doesn't mean the item wasn't shipped. Some sellers take their items to the post office and obtain a receipt, but don't post tracking. It isn't mandatory to ship with tracking nor is it mandatory to upload it if they do. You are protected with the eBay 30 day money back guarantee whether or not tracking is used. Tracking is a seller protection, and is the only way to prove delivery. You can't leave feedback saying the seller didn't use tracking because that isn't against the rules.

OP1 year agoIndeed, it is a terrible practice for sellers to disregard customers. Unfortunately, eBay permits such poor sellers to thrive and attract more buyers. While you are probably right that this reflects poorly on both the seller and eBay, it remains a troubling situation. Yet to remove legitimate feedback is wrong on many levels and tells me where ebay stands and it is not with the buyer. Luckily it was paid through a credit card and I still have options.

Mentor1 year agoI suspect the seller asked to have the feedback removed because sellers are not required to send the tracking number, nor are they required to reply to questions. Of course it is good customer service, but neither of that is a requirement.
