buyer wants to return an item after 10 days, listing said no returns, buyer said he purchased by mistake. can he leave negative feedback if I do not accept the return request? Thank you

If the Buyer is just communicating through eBay messaging, you could let him know that your listing for that item does not accept returns.

If the Buyer opens a return request on eBay and uses "purchased by mistake", you can decline the return request. eBay considers that reason a "remorse return".

Where things get complicated is if the Buyer is dishonest and opens an Item Not as Described return request, you would need to accept that and pay for return shipping (as long as it was delivered 30 days or less ago). That is due to the eBay 30-day Money Back Guarantee that overrides and individual Seller's return policy.

PS: if you decline the remorse return, they cannot leave negative. If you decline the Guarantee return, they can.
