Why does eBay control feedback. When a transaction goes wrong like cancellation with no intent to buy or when buyer doesn't pay for an item, eBay only allows positive feedback and if you do not leave feedback that appears forever on the summary screen. Does anyone know or have suggestions? Thank you, Diane

Mentor5 months agoFeedback is not for publicly shaming buyers.
If a buyer fails to pay, cancel for nonpayment after four days to ensure the buyer gets a nonpayment strike. Add the buyer to your blocked buyer list, and set your buyer requirements to block bids or purchases from users with two or more nonpayment strikes in the last year if you have not already done so.
It is also possible to require a payment method in advance for bids or offers.
Cancelling for nonpayment ensures the buyer will not be able to leave feedback for the seller; cancelling earlier or for another reason may still allow the buyer to leave feedback and won't earn the buyer a nonpayment strike.
