I have been selling on eBay for over 10 years. I've sold 169 items, received 142 very very positive feedbacks and one negative feedback. Why does the feedback percentage continue to go down with only one negative feedback in all that time? Will it ever go back to 100% or do I have to live with it forever???

Mentor3 years agoMore positives in a month would increase the %. Looks like it will age off soon and you will be back to 100%.

Mentor3 years agoThe feedback percentage is based on the feedback received in the last year. As older comments age off, they no longer apply to the calculation, and the percentage will change.
The good news is that once the negative is one year old, it will no longer figure into your percentage, and if you receive no new negatives, your percentage will go back to 100%.

OP3 years agoThank you so much for your explanation. I truly appreciate it. One more thing I don't understand is why the percentage continues to go down? Right now it is at the lowest ever which is 83.3% even though all feedback has been positive except for one.

Mentor3 years agoThere are two ways your feedback percentage can go down. If you get another negative, obviously, your percentage will go down.
But less obviously, if you have fewer positives, that can also make your feedback percentage go down. If you had nine positives and one negative in the last year, your percentage would be 9/10 or 90%. If your oldest positive in the last year is from 364 days ago, then in a couple of days your oldest positive will no longer count towards your percentage, and then you would only have eight positives and one negative in the last year, giving you a feedback percentage of 8/9 or 88.9%.
