Fee for reserve listing?

Want to list expensive painting about $1,000. considering reserve bid but don't know cost if it's advantious vs starting bid say 900.00 need advise or costs involved? Thanks

A very high fee. Minimum $5.00, maximum $250, 7.5% of the Reserve Price in between.

Simply set your Starting Price at the very least you calculate you are willing to sell the item for. Don't forget to figure in eBay fees on the sale. In my opinion a Reserve wouldn't be worth it even without the fee. More bids do NOT mean a higher price: the only bids that count in setting the price are the highest bid of the second highest bidder and the lowest bid of the highest bidder that is enough to beat that "underbid" (and the latter figures into the price only to determine whether the winner pays a full bid increment over the underbid or the full amount of that winning bid if it is less than the full bid increment over the underbid, including an earlier placed tie amount). You would be balancing getting bids from those not willing to pay the actual minimum vs. those who would bid the minimum or more but don't "play the game" of Reserve Prices.
