fedex surcharges
Is Fedex still charging outrageous surcharges on large packages? In the past, we shipped golf clubs with Fedex because they were the cheapest. 2 or 3 weeks later they tacked on a $30 surcharge to our account. Golf club(s) can often be 48x6x6. We currently have a item that is 4lb and is 16x16x16. The upfront charge on eBay shipping for this item going Fedex to NYC (we're in CA) is $40. USPS is $80. I'm worried that if we ship it Fedex, we'll get hit a huge surcharge after the fact. Help!!!!

Mentor2 years ago@gabbyco_online Yes. They will add a surcharge and bill you later and , they are wrong sometimes too. You have no way to dispute it since eBay is the shipper.
I recommend using Pirateship.com and UPS to ship your larger packages.
