fedex surcharge

Hi there. I sent a package via fedex and paid $9. I received a message saying they were going to charge an additional $20 stating my package was 15 lbs... now this is definitely not the case, and I'm pretty sure it was under 3 lbs. somehow FEDEX made a mistake. I called them, and since I do not have a fed ex account, and i bought the label through my ebay account they cannot help me.

Ebay directs me to file a claim with fedex, and again i do not have those fedex accounts and cannot log on.

I called Fedex and gave them the tracking number but they could not help me either. The need an account number or an order number. Both I do not have.

Any assistance would be helpful.

DW is a real sweet deal . . . for the carriers. The carrier measures all the dimensions ( length, width, & depth ) of a package, and then look up the amount on a cross reference. Whatever the charge is for the size of the package, versus whatever the charge is for the actual weight, they choose whichever is higher. Use google to look up Dimensional Weight for a more detailed explanation than I gave.
