FedEx gross weighing error (73lbs instead of 7.3lbs) resulting in $55.33 taken from my bank account

To: Ebay Customer Service (a/k/a Help Center)
Regarding sales order #16-13141-74162 (A vinyl boot for a “Retro†Thunderbird Convertible).
Apparently FedEx has made a gross error in the weight of my package resulting in your taking an extra $55.33 from my bank account. The details follow:
- I bought the boot from xxxxxxx, known on Ebay as xxxxxxxx, through Ebay in February (Order #32-64212-29686).
- During the winter I sold the car without the boot.
- I subsequently posted the boot for sale on Ebay (see sales number above) and sold it to xxxxxxx of xxxxxxxx in Florida on June 1.
- I used a FedEx label bought from Ebay, but had to pay FedEx to box the boot separately. I weighed the boot at 4.5 lbs, guessed the box weight at 2 lbs and rounded up the weight to 7 lbs for good measure. 7 lbs is what I reported to Ebay for purposes of obtaining the label.
- The next day, June 2, I went to the local FedEx store first thing and had the boot properly boxed for shipment by the store manager.
- The package arrived in Florida on June 5, and xxxxxxxe was exceptionally pleased.
- But on June 12 Ebay notified me that FedEx was charging an extra $55.33 – having weighed the package at 73 lbs!!! I can fathom the package weighing 7.3 lbs, but NOT 73lbs! (If you look at my product picture on our family loveseat you will see that it could NOT weigh that amount!)
- I returned to the FedEx store the next morning and the manager remembered the packaging. She called and tried to talk to officials at her HQ only to be bounced around and, ultimately, told that they would NOT talk further with her NOR would they talk with me. They would only talk to Ebay, their originating customer.
- I have passed all this information along to Ebay using the email address by which I was initially informed of the problem. (NO indication was given that the inbox of that address was not monitored. However, no reply was received. I could only hope it was being worked on.)
- Today I received a message from Ebay that the $55.33 has been taken from my bank account.
I have, over time, bought everything from a car to men’s shirts through Ebay. (This was my first sale experience.) I would appreciate it very much if Ebay would go to bat for me and get these funds back. If you don’t, then apparently I am just out of luck!
IF you talk to the folks that sold it to me and/or to the gentleman that bought it from me, you can verify the weight error. Please do so!
Thanks & Regards,
xxxxxxxxxx

Mentor1 year ago@Anonymous. This sounds like it might be a dimensional weight surcharge. Shipping is based on package size not just weight
Only eBay customer service can file the dispute since they are the Fed Ex customer. I recommend contacting CS on social media to ask them to do this. Keep in mind that Fed Ex does sometimes add incorrect surcharges but there are CORRECT surcharges that you can read about on the Fed Ex website.
Personally if I have an item that is too large or heavy to ship via USPS then I use UPS and buy the label from PIrateship.com. Pirateship helps with insurance claims and surcharge disputes. UPS does have a list of valid surcharges on their website too. UPS does not add surcharges as often as Fed Ex does.
Here's how to contact eBay general customer service:

There are no help "bots" to deal with this issue.
I am sending the above letter (without x-outs) to the only address I could find (in San Jose, California) today.
