Why is FedEx charging extra fees for packages that were weighed and measured ahead of time?This is a scam of some sort and I am getting tired of it, has anyone else experienced this?

Many have problems with Fed Ex surcharges. It is usually due to dimensional weight as my fellow Mentor stated.

Only eBay customer service can file the dispute since they are the Fed Ex customer. I recommend contacting CS on social media to ask them to do this. Keep in mind that Fed Ex does sometimes add incorrect surcharges but there are CORRECT surcharges that you can read about on the Fed Ex website.

Personally if I have an item that is too large or heavy to ship via USPS then I use UPS and buy the label from PIrateship.com. Pirateship helps with insurance claims and surcharge disputes. UPS does have a list of valid surcharges on their website too. UPS does not add surcharges as often as Fed Ex does.

I think they're charging you per Dimensional Weight, which isn't weight at all, it's how much room the package takes up in the truck. Dimensional weight (DIM) is a pricing technique used by carriers like FedEx, UPS, and USPS that calculates shipping costs based on a package's volume (size) rather than just its actual scale weight. It ensures large, lightweight items cost more to ship, reflecting the space they occupy. The higher of the two, actual weight or DIM weight, determines the final cost.
