FedEx came back and said item was 48 lbs. It was 2 lbs. I sell many of similar items and always this weight. How can I get my $27.00 back? Can't seem to find out how on Ebay's site. Thx.
I have use standard 48X4X4 or 36X4X4 boxes.

Mentor3 days agoIf you are getting charges, you are doing something wrong in your packaging. Are you selecting large package type? Are you actually measuring the box instead of depending on the size printed on the box.
You are being charged a "penalty" weight for the billable weight. They are not saying it weighs that much, just that they have to charge you for not selecting the correct size or dimensions or box type.
You have to select the correct packaging as well. Fedex may be cheaper, but you also need to give them all the information about the package.
When shipping large packages with FedEx, consider the following size and handling criteria:
FedEx applies an Oversize Charge if your package exceeds 48 inches along its longest side, 30 inches along its second longest side, or 105 inches in length plus girth (length + 2 x height + 2 x width).
Packages with cubic volume over 17,280 cubic inches (10 cubic feet) or actual weight greater than 110 lbs also incur this charge.
A minimum billable weight of 90 lbs applies for packages incurring the Oversize Charge.
Irregular packages include those not fully encased in an outer shipping container or encased in non-corrugated materials like metal, wood, or plastic.

OP2 days agoI sell golf clubs. I have sent many correctly and they said box was 36X5X3... crazy as 36X4X4. Thank you for the thoughtful response.
