Federal regulations require eBay to obtain your physical address
The INFORM Consumers Act: This law requires online marketplaces to verify and publicly disclose the physical address of high-volume third-party sellers (those with over $20,000 in annual sales). For sellers using a personal residence, only the state and country may be disclosed to the public.
If a person does not have annual sales of $20,000.00 and/or have sold 200 items or more, the person does not have to provide such information. The above information for the INFORM Consumer Act does not apply to alot of people the sell items on ebay. How does a person go by not having to provide this information that eBay says is require by federal regualtion if a person is below the require criteria.
Thank you.

Mentor4 months agoWell. My own selling ID is in no danger of ever having annual sales of over $20,000, so I'm not really worried about this requirement. eBay already has had my physical residence address, for more than 20 years. They also have both my home and cell phone numbers and my social security number. I'm not worried.
But it seems to me that -- if this quote from your post is the whole truth: "How does a person go by not having to provide this information that eBay says is require by federal regualtion [sic] if a person is below the require criteria" -- then you just have to make sure your annual sales are less than $20,000. As you say, "below the require [sic] criteria."

Mentor4 months agoYou have to provide your address to eBay so they can properly calculate the shipping charge. What you reference would be required to be part of the listing if sales are over the limits. Lower volume sellers do not have to make this part of their listing.
