Fed Ex shipping adjustment was charged to my account based on Fed Ex's incorrect billing?
I sold and shipped an item in which the buyer paid an actual shipping amount using Fed Ex as the carrier. The box weighed 4.19 lbs and the buyer paid $16.31 to have the item shipped from Pennsylvania to Washington State. I shipped the item 3/21/24 and the item delivered 3/28/24. I was informed yesterday (4/4/24) that Fed Ex was adjusting the shipping account based on the weight they were assigning to the package. The notification I received from eBay/Fed Ex that I was being charged an additional $17.00 (in addition to the $16.31 I have already paid.) Is there any recourse that I may have, as there is no possible way that the package weighed anywhere near the amount that Fed Ex is claiming? I have already gotten notification that eBay is charging my checking account for the additional $17.00. My net earnings on the item sold, less the eBay fees and shipping was already a mere $18.60; and now with this new errant shipping charge from Fed Ex, my net proceeds on the item will be $1.60.
Has anyone else had this happen to them and what, if anything can be done to address the issue?
I have been a seller on the platform for 15 years, with over 380 transactions (primarily as a seller) and I have a 100% positive feedback rating.
Any words of encouragement or advice would be appreciated. Needless to say, I will no longer be offering Fed Ex as a shipping option.
Regards,
Theo

The FedEx labels issue appeared to be resolved and eBay didn't need further action from an affected seller. Now it appears that eBay does need you to contact eBay customer service. Be ready to provide the agent with the info below:
