Feature request: Custom saved search parameters
Hello everyone, I hope you are well. I’m writing to request a feature enhancement for eBay’s saved search functionality that would make finding the exact items I want much faster and more precise.
Specifically, I would like the option to create and save custom search parameters that include the following fields:
- Item/part number — allow searches to target or exclude specific item numbers.
- Description — a dedicated field to search within item descriptions (not just titles).
- Condition filter — an explicit new/used selector so saved searches can lock in condition preferences.
- Custom/maximum price slider — a flexible slider to set a maximum price (and optionally a minimum) when saving a search.
These additions would help power users and frequent buyers quickly surface relevant listings and reduce time spent refining searches manually. If possible, please consider making the price control a slider in the saved-search UI and exposing the item-number and description fields in the advanced saved-search options.
Could you let me know whether these features are under consideration, whether they could be added to the roadmap, or if there are existing workarounds or API endpoints that support similar functionality? I’d appreciate any guidance on timelines or how to submit a formal product suggestion if needed.

Mentor6 months agoPerhaps I am misunderstanding your post, but eBay already offers much of what you are looking for in its search on the search results page, at least when using a desktop browser to create and save a search. Once saved, the search can be opened using a mobile browser or the app.
You can exclude items by item number from your search by putting a minus sign in front of the item number and using it in the keyword entry field when searching. In practice, you will find that you will only be able to exclude a handful of items that way; if you keep adding additional terms, eventually the search URL will get too long to be evaluated properly. If you want to exclude many items, you may be better of excluding by title keyword or by seller username.
When searching active items, there is small box under the search bar to search in the item description as well as the default (title and item-specifics). Note that this is not available when searching sold or ended listings, though.
Condition filter options are available when searching.
Price range can be specified either by entering a price floor and a price ceiling directly, or by moving the sliders under the price graph.
If you create a search, adjust the various options on the search results page to your liking, then save the search, the saved search should keep all your specified options. If you want to change those settings you can do so directly on the search results page, then, if desired, save the new search and delete the old search. If you start new searches directly on the search results page, you can maintain many of those options for your further searches.
