Faulty vehicle part
I hope someone can guide me with my situation. My vehicle is currently undergoing repairs by Pennant Hills Nissan resulting from a faulty EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) valve I purchased on April 8th 2023 from ATP Auto Parts on eBay. The cost of the EGR valve was $160. The seller offers a 2 year warranty on the part. My vehicle had traveled less than 300 kilometers after its installation when the butterfly gate inside the valve snapped off and lodged in the intake manifold of the engine causing extensive damage. A repair estimate from Pennant Hills Nissan for damages to the intake manifold, swirl valves and associated components plus labour stands at $4,200.00 at this time plus a towing cost of $200. I contacted ATP Auto Parts via an eBay message advising them of the situation and asking them for help. No surprises though that in 10 days there has been no reply. Is there anything that eBay can do or is there legislation in place to protect the consumer. Thanks in advance |

Ebay has a 30 day Money Back Guarantee (not a warranty).
You will need to contact whoever issued the warranty. Ebay sellers cannot warranty their items unless they are a direct seller for the manufacturer that produces the item.
