Faulty product
Can anyone help me resolve an issue with a faulty product? I bought a bumper for my truck in July of 2025. Now, 7 months later it's rusting through. I've contacted the seller but he has not replied. Ebay's "Contact/Help is all automated and is of no help.

Mentor7 months agoThere is nothing that can be done through Ebay since the 30 day Money Back Guarantee has expired.
You can try contacting the funding source you used to pay for the item to try to dispute the charge but it may be too late for that, too.

Unfortunately you are only covered by eBay for 30 days. You are only covered by PayPal for up to 180 days so you may have missed that deadline if you paid that way. A credit card company may allow a dispute but since external car parts are exposed to weather that may be a challenge.
eBay Money Back Guarantee policy
Not to be negative but you may wind up having to replace it.

OP7 months agoThanks. That's about what I figured. It's a real problem though if a product takes 6 or 7 months before you notice it begins to fall apart, or in this case rust through. It's starting to look like a scam when a seller knows the product they are selling will only outlast any path to resolution by a few weeks. I would think Ebay would be interested in discouraging this sort of thing.
And to you're last comment. I have to agree, however,,, replace it with what? Another product that will last just long enough for the seller to be in the clear??

OP7 months agoUnderstood. Obviously, I will not repurchase from the same source, but it's anybody's guess if the next one I buy is any better than the first. As such, I have no way of knowing, and I'm loosing faith in the quality of products available on Ebay. The reviews were all glowing, and the seller has over 99% positive feedback,,, seemed like a good bet at the time. Again, I would think Ebay would be interested in eliminating the bad players that are selling on Ebay.

You are more than welcome ... for myself I Sell more on eBay than Buy. While I pay more elsewhere for certain items I don't run into the issues that some customers do buying on eBay.
