Faulty product
I recently bought a piece of equipment on Ebay for $1500. The item does not work. I tried multiple times and even ordered new supplies to be sure the supplies included weren't expired. I only get an error message. The seller does not accept returns. What can I do except to call my bank and request a refund? Ebay support does not seem to exist.

Mentor3 years agoeBay has a money back guarantee for items that are not as described. You should be able to return the item at the seller's expense and get a refund if you act within thirty days of receipt of the item.

OP3 years agoThanks...it was more than 30 days before I realized the machine was faulty and not errors on my part or the cassettes being outdated or damaged. I guess I have no alternative but to request a refund through my credit card. $1500 is a lot to pay for faulty equipment

Mentor3 years agoPayPal and many credit cards offer some protection for up to six months from the date of purchase. Generally it is best to go through eBay first, but once you have passed the thirty day mark or if eBay is unable to help, PayPal or your credit card can provide a good fall-back option.
