False Traffic Reports
Hello. I am hoping for some assistance. I have been on the phone for the last 2 hours with Customer Support. This is the 15th or so time I have called. We finally have some clue as to what may be causing the slowdown of 50% plus in y store in sales and traffic. First off. My store is perfect in every conceivable metric. I am a long time full time reseller. The below numbers show a massive discrepancy in most all of the traffic numbers. These photos were taken on March 29th showing over 605k impressions and then tonight showing that same day of the 28th at 274k. The external site views are the biggest glaring flaw other than the total impressions. This is not the first time this has happened. I just didn't take photo proof of the issue before. It happened on the 22-23 of March as well. This is a huge problem. I am quite sure I am not the only one. My sales are drastically down and I know it is not me or "the economy". This is an eBay issue. Please see the below photos for proof of what I am saying. The numbers are grossly miscalculated which it turn destroys my sales conversion rate. When the A.I. sees that I got an enormous amount of external site views each day that I certainly did not get it thinks that eBay is wasting it's marketing capital on my account. My sales conversion rate takes a huge hit. I have averaged an SCR of 1.6% for years. Until last May when I first noticed these very strange drop offs in all traffic from sales to just messages. March and April are the best months of the year for clothing resellers. I am down almost 50% from last year with more, better items and higher promotion rates and better service options to the buyer. I have same day shipping, free returns, better photos and more information on my listings than most any of my contemporaries. I run large sales and send out every coupon I can think to send. Please. I am begging someone to take this seriously. Julio in customer service is doing everything he can do from that end but I fear it may not be enough. This is my livelihood but I cannot afford to maintain the store at these sell through rates. I have been positive for over a year that this is not a me thing, this is an eBay thing. So I am actually excited that we may have found the culprit. I pray that no one else is having this same issue but if we can find the glitch that is causing this, maybe just maybe we can fix it and I can continue to build my small business. Otherwise I will be forced to take the 75,000 dollars I gave to eBay last year to somewhere else. This cannot continue to happen. I just can't afford it.

Mentor2 years agoThis Mentor board is made up of fellow buyers and sellers. eBay does not answer questions. All I can tell you is that views are now actual views from people; previously this number included 'bot' views.

OP2 years agoThe count changes are a huge issue. When considering that STR is the number 1 conversion the AI uses to afford traffic. If Cassini believes that I am getting thousands of external site views that it is paying to market to me and I am not converting any of them that is a problem. My store is now down 72% year over year. This isn't anything that I can do on my end to remedy. I have averaged 18 sales a day for years. Now we are running at 4. With more and better inventory. Same day shipping up to 4 pm, free returns, more and better photos, more inventory, better inventory. Our metrics are near 100% other than 1 negative. I have my 10,000 hours at this and know how to eBay better than 99.9%. I am about a day away from scrapping the whole store and calling it a day. I have been loyal as a puppy to them for years and years. They have 4 tickets in and no help. I even cyber stalked the freaking VP of Customer Service Technology to try and get some help. Sorry. Just **bleep**. I have spent thousands of hours and 10 of thousands maybe more building my business. Now an AI is killing it for no reason.
