False return request
Hi I haven’t run into this before. I had a buyer open a return request saying their item is broken & I sold it to them that way. It was in perfectly working order when it was shipped I answered all questions & even sent photos of the item turned on & fully charged. I don’t want to refund & receive back an item that is now broken & not in the same condition as when I sent it. What are my options can I ask eBay to step in?

·2 years agoYour options are to refund the buyer and let them keep it or accept the return, pay return shipping, then refund when it's returned.
If you ask Ebay to step in, they'll refund the buyer from your account, let them keep the item, keep their fees and give you a defect for not handling the return.

Mentor2 years agoIf the buyer files a Returns Request and states Not as Described, you WILL accept the return and pay for a return shipping label. If you refuse, ebay can refund the buyer from your funds, not require that the buyer return the item, and a defect will be recorded on your account for an unresolved transaction.
