fakes and bad sellers
I am completely depressed over the number of fakes and dishonest sellers on EBAY. I could spend all day reporting bad listings. Ebay does nothing unless its reported. Most bad sellers have few if any feedback.yet they pop up as fast as their removed. Ebay does nothing to police up its site on its own . I guess the listing fees are too lucrative to give up.Item locations are fraudulent. ebay doesnt care.A worn out buffalo nickel worth 6 cents is listed for a thousand dollars as a rare coin, Ebay doesnt care, Chinese fakes are everywhere, Ebay doesnt care, Just keep the listing fees coming. You cant even talk to a real employee, Their AI assistant is usless. Where are the algorithums to squash these sellers? guess thats not a priority. oh well, Buyer beware.

This suggests a strategy for avoiding dealing with bad sellers.
Rather than trying to play whack-a-mole every time a scammer uses a new account to list something, choose instead to purchase from experienced sellers with a proven track record of actually delivering what was advertised as demonstrated by positive feedback over time, and avoid purchasing from new or inexperienced sellers, sellers offering deals that are obviously too-good-to-be-true, or sellers that show signs of drop-shipping from unknown sources.
It would be nice if eBay could always look at a listing and determine conclusively whether the seller intended to ship a genuine item, but since eBay can't, buyers will have to vet their sellers prior to purchasing or else be prepared to get their items authenticated within thirty days to be able to make use of eBay's money back guarantee.
