Fake USPS Tracking Number.
I ordered some cat food from an eBay seller 4 days ago and I contacted the seller today letting them know that they did not provide any tracking information. They told me they would be working on it and Soon after a tracking number appeared on my order. I clicked on it and I was sent to the USPS tracking area and it says it was delivered to my house this morning. And the city but not the address. Never got the delivery. Called the local post office and they said that this was a scam. These companies were somehow getting tracking numbers that appear to be legitimate. She also said that these end up getting delivered to a different address and it's usually not the item that was ordered but it does allow them to have proof of delivery for the credit card companies. Which is all they need to dispute your dispute through your credit card company. I'm waiting to get more information from the post office and I will be contacting eBay for an immediate refund. I will be leaving some terrible terrible feedback from this seller and warning people to stay away if it is not resolved. Has anyone else run across this issue and how did you resolve it? I'm very very disappointed that eBay is unable to put this kind of **** to a stop. They're a billion dollar company and I have paid them tons of money on items I have sold online. And I have bent over backwards to make sure my customers get what they ordered and if they are not happy with it I do a refund. This is very upsetting to me

Sorry this happened to you, it is an epidemic on Ebay and Ebay is helpless in this scam perpetrated by unscrupulous sellers.
I was able to get my refund in the same situation by going to the post office, presenting the tracking number, and received a written document showing the item was NOT delivered to my address and not in my name. Then I contacted Ebay and provided the written documentation, so they approved my refund.

OP4 months agoThey agreed they give me a refund. The seller. I guess they don't want me to report them to eBay or give them bad feedback. It looks like a legitimate company with lots of good feedback so I'm really confused. We will see if I get the refund If not I will do what you said.
