Fake tracking number scam
I have also fallen victim to the fake tracking number scam and exhausted all avenues suggested here and Reddit and still have been denied. One denial suggested that the package was mis-delivered when there was proof from UPS it had been delivered, just not to me. I submitted written documentation from UPS that the tracking number I gave them did not match any of my information and the package that was delivered only weighed 15.3 pounds and I had ordered a 250 pound generator. Another point they didn't even pay attention to was that fact that UPS only handles packages that are 150 pounds or less.
I will be cutting up my ebay credit card and will no longer use ebay to make any purchases.
Also my seller was suspended and terminated the day I placed my INR and all the denials keep telling me to work it out with the seller, good luck with that!
I am so frustrated, when I actually jump through all the hoops, being shuffled from one denial to another and then supply them with written evidence that the delivery for that UPS tracking number was from another seller and delivered to one of that sellers customers, the name of seller, purchaser and address don't match and my name was not in any way associated with the that tracking number, the picture in the proof of delivery was not my house and the picture of the package sitting on a kitchen chair on their porch was certainly could not be a 250 pound generator.
There has to be a higher authority that I can seek out for assistance. I am not in a position to just throw my money away.
I will be reporting to the FTC, whatever Fraud agency I can find and also the BBB.
Would appreciate any suggestions before I turn over to my CC company, which I actually an Ebay CC.

Mentor5 months ago@dwbh87 I'm sorry that happened. Members have the best results with winning false tracking scam cases when they contact customer service on social media.
FOR UPS:
You can usually find the weight and other details for UPS here:
https://www.ups.com/track?loc=en_US&requester=ST/
then click " Proof of Delivery" Screenshot that ( I know you have other documentation, but more is better)
Contact Customer Service and inform them that the seller uploaded a "false tracking number" on your purchase. Share any documentation you gathered. Request a refund.
Use the Customer Service that is on Instagram this way:
Send a private direct message to the page. Explain you have a fake or false tracking number situation.
If the above steps do not result in a refund then you will have to pursue a chargeback with your funding source ( bank, credit card, etc) . Once you ask your funding source to step in eBay can no longer assist you so save this option for last.
