Fake tracking
eBay's system is flawed. I made a purchase, the seller used fake tracking, providing a false tracking number, which showed delivery to a different address, same zip code, but a different house number and person than mine. The system marks it as delivered, but nothing was delivered to me. When I access the eBay system, the chat only says my item was delivered, there's nothing I can do. I have proof from USPS that I did not receive the item... In 2026, eBay still has such a flawed system for scammers, will we have to resort to legal action?

Mentor4 months agoTake the tracking number down to your local USPS office and have them check their GPS for where the package was delivered. If it was NOT addressed to you and your address, have the USPS clerk state that on their letterhead. They don't need to state the name/address attached to the tracking number, just that it was not addressed to YOU.

Explain that the seller is using fake USPS tracking numbers
Include these phrases:
Seller uploaded tracking not associated with my transaction
Tracking details were not accurate
Seller use a false tracking number
Don't write a novel, it's initially being read by a computer, that's why I want you to use those 3 specific phrases in the message.
